Cleaner and more cost effective industry in Macedonia is a 3 year program funded by the Government of the Kingdom of Norway
The aim of CCEI is to contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions from Macedonian installations, and support the industry in becoming more cost-effective and well prepared for future EU obligations. In order to achieve this, CCEI provides the Macedonian industry with capacity building activities and technical assistance in developing energy efficiency projects and in implementing environmental management systems. CCEI also contribute to training young Macedonians by involving students and young professionals in the project activities.
The project activities are organized in 3 components, Energy Efficiency, Environmental Management and Student Exchange. The project is being implemented by Norsk Energi and the NGO Centre for Climate Change (CCC) in the period from September 2009 – August 2012.
In addition to the industry, the project will involve Macedonian consultants, students, NGOs and authorities in order to develop local competence and awareness in the field of energy and environment. The project is supported by the Minitry of Environment and Physical Planning, Ministry of Economy, the Economic Chamber of Commerce, the Association of Chamber of Commerce –Industry Chamber and US Aid.
